In the
Board’s Proceedings under references cited orders were issued that the
employees who have completed 9/20 years of total service in the same post
without promotion be sanctioned Selection Grade/ Special Grade.

Of late, instances have come to notice that the employees who got promotion
orders on the verge of 9 years /20 years in the same post are not relieved
immediately by the authorities concerned which led to sanction of Selection
Grade/Special Grade benefits to them and also creates anomaly among the senior
and junior employees.
3. Therefore, to avoid such cases, all
the Chief Engineers/ Superintending Engineers and other officers are instructed
to relieve the individuals after getting the promotion orders immediately to
enable them to join in the promoted post within the period of time allowed in
the promotion order without any delay. Any deviation will be viewed seriously
and responsibility will be fixed on the erring officials.
4. The above instructions should be
scrupulously followed and the same shall be communicated to the sub-ordinate
officers for strict adherence.
5. The
receipt of the Memo. shall be acknowledged.
