நமது சங்கம் கடந்த 1969-ல் பெருந்தலைவர் திருமிகு.கு.காமராஜர் அவர்களின் நல்லாசியுடன் திருமதி.T.N.அனந்த நாயகி அவர்களின் தலைமையில் TNTUC (TAMILNADU TRADE UNION CONGRESS) மின் வாரிய தேசிய தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் என துவங்கப்பட்டு தமிழ்நாடு மின்சார வாரியத்திலும் செயல்பட்டு வந்தது.

மதுரை முகவை மின் திட்ட துவக்க விழாவில் கடந்த 1973-ம் வருடம் பெருந்தலைவர் திரு.கு.காமராசர் அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார்.

கடந்த 1977-ல் தேசிய அரசியலில் ஏற்பட்ட பெரும் மாற்றம் காரணமாக மனிதப் புனிதர் மறைந்த பாரதப் பிரதமர் மொரார்ஜி தேசாய் அவர்களின் தலைமையில் ஜனதா அரசாங்கம் அமைந்தது.

கடந்த 11-02.1979 (ஞாயிறு)-ல் வேலூர் மாநகரில் நடைபெற்ற மாநில மாநாட்டில் மத்திய எரிசக்தித்துறை அமைச்சர் மாண்புமிகு பேராசிரியர் திரு.பா.ராமச்சந்திரன் M.A., அவர்கள் தலைமையில் நடைபெற்றது. அந்த மாநாட்டில் TNTUC என்கிற தொழிற்சங்கத்தின் பெயர் இனி ஜனதா தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் என பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டு தமிழகம் முழுவதும் , பஞ்சாலை, சிமெண்ட், போக்குவரத்து, தமிழ்நாடு மின் வாரியம், என்.எல்.சி. போன்றவற்றில் தொழிற் சங்கம் இயங்கி வந்தது.

பின்னர் 1981-ம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு சட்ட மன்றத்தில் திரு.P.முகம்மது இஸ்மாயில்,M.L.A., திரு.R.நெல்லை ஜெபமணி,M.L.A., மற்றும் திரு.ரமணி கம்யுனிஸ்ட் M.L.A., ஆகியோரின் வேண்டுகோளினைப் பரிசீலித்து அப்போதைய முதமைச்சர் மாண்புமிகு எம்.ஜி.இராமச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் அரசியல் ரீதியாக மின்வாரியத்தில் இயங்கி வரும் மற்றும் மத்தியில் இணைக்கப் பெற்ற கீழ்க்கண்ட தொழிற்சங்கங்களை அங்கீகரித்து மின்வாரியத்தில் அனைத்து பேச்சுவார்த்தைகள் மற்றும் ஒப்பந்தங்கள் போன்றவற்றிற்கு அழைக்கப்படும் என அறிவித்தார்.

மேற்சொன்ன தமிழக அரசின் அறிவிப்பினால்தான் நமது சங்கத்தினை பேச்சுவார்த்தைக்கு இன்றளவும் TNEB Ltd / TANGEDCO / TANTRANSCO -வில் அழைத்து பேசப்படுகிறது.
