PROCEEDINGS:

          The qualification of “Minumum General” General Education Qualification, i.e.S.S.L.C.” has been prescribed as basic qualification for appointment to the posts of Junior Assistant (Accounts) and Junior Assistant, (Administration). Consequent on restructuring of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board into Corporations, viz. TNEB Ltd, TANGEDCO and TANTRANSCO, the ways and means to improve the efficiency of administration has been considered and it has been decided that a qualification higher than S.S.L.C., be prescribed for the initial level category of Junior Assistant (Accounts) and Junior Assistant (Administration).

          2. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 79 (c) of the Electricity  (Supply) Act, 1948 (Central Act 54 of 1948), read with Section 185 of the Electricity  (Supply) Act, 2003 and G.O.Ms.No.100, Energy (B2) Department, dated 19.10.2010, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (formerly Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations:-

AMENDMENTS

 “In the said Regulations, in ANNEXURE-III (referred to in Regulation 94),-

(a)  under the heading “Board Office Administrative Branch, Board Office Accounts Branch, Board Office Technical Branch and Circles”, after the proviso in Column (3) against the expressions “Junior Assistants, Typists and Steno-Typists, Stores Custodian” in Column (1) and the expressions “Direct Recruitment or Appointment by Internal Selection” in Column (2), the following provisos shall be added, namely:-

“Provided also that on and from 24.05.20104, for appointment as

Junior Assistant (Administrative cadre) in the offices of Circles, the candidates must hold B.A., or B.Sc, or B.Com or any Degree obtained from any University established by law in India and recognized by the  University Grants Commission for the purpose of its Grant and recognized by the  Government of Tamil Nadu for the purpose of appointment;

          Provided further that on and from 24.05.2014, for appointment as Junior Assistant in Accounts cadre, the candidates must hold B.Com Degree obtained from any University established by law in India and recognized by the  University Grants Commission for the purpose of its Grant and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the purpose of appointment”.
