PROCEEDINGS:

          In the Government Order read above, the Government issued amendment to rule 49(1)(iii) of the Fundamental Rules, according to which, the additional pay shall be sanctioned irrespective of the duration of the charge held or the number of posts of additional charge held by Group A and B officers in Government service and also without the restrictions that the Additional Charge Allowance shall not be paid for the period in excess of five months.

          2. The Regulation 49(1)(iii) of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations is corresponding to rule 49(1)(iii) of the Fundamental Rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Hence, proposals for adopting the said rule in TANGEDCO and to make suitable amendment to Regulation 49(1)(iii) of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations were placed before the Board of TANGEDCO for its approval. After careful consideration, the Board of TANGEDCO has resolved to amend regulation 49(1)(iii) of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations.

          3. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 79(c) of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 (Central Act 54 of 1948), read with Section 185 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 2003 and G.O.Ms.No.100, Energy (B2) Department, dated 19.10.2010, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (formerly Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Service Regulations:-

AMENDMENT

In the said regulations, in regulation-49, in sub-regulation (1), for clause (iii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-

"(iii) Additional pay for holding full additional charge shall be granted at the rate of one fifth of the pay drawn in the regular post or half of the minimum pay of the additional post, whichever is less. The additional pay shall be sanctioned irrespective of the duration of the charge held or the number of posts of additional charge held by Class-I and II officers only".

          4. The above said amendment comes into effect from the date of issue of the Government Order (i.e.03.10.2011).

          5. The receipt of these proceedings shall be acknowledged in the slip enclosed.
